A Serious Note

Our thoughts and best wishes go out to the victim of last week's unfortunate accident at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and her family. We here at Absolutely Reliable News and Rumors hope for her full and complete recovery. Because of the tragic nature of this accident, we will abstain from any of the traditionally sardonic comments you've come to know and love.

Unless this is revealed to be a maintenance issue, in which case all of our guns will be blazing.

Don't you worry, it was definitely a maintenance issue. There was absolutely nothing any operator or guest could have done to stop this from happening.
I was at the park on the day of the accident, and I could tell that Superman was in need of an inspection or something.

But my thoughts absolutely go out to this poor young woman, along wit all of her friends and families.

It's already come out that they used non-standard replacement parts on the ride. Those rides are built to exacting safety specifications, and when you use 3rd party replacement parts, you risk the safety of its riders.

As it is, Intamin's record isn't all that swift, and when you throw in the 3rd party replacement parts, something's bound to happen.
